My favorite's beers.

The first beers that I will show you are the Trappists, but only the ones that I drink.

.

Only these six Trappist - Achel, Chimay, Orval, Rochefort, Westmalle, Westvleteren - and La Trappe may use the collective brand " Authentic Trappist Product".

These are conditions that are needed the be called real Trappists .

The product must be made within the walls of a Trappist abbey.

The product must be made by or under the direct supervision of the monastery community.

The largest part of the profit must be spent on social work.

Chimay bleu :

The Chimay Bleu is a dark strong beer.
For the best taste the Chimay bleu most have around 10 to 14 degrees celc.
If you buy a new crate, it’s better you keep it in a dark refrigerator for at least 3 extra months, trust me. If you even have the patience to wait 6 months or a year then it will have the taste it deserves.
You can buy it in 4 different bottles.

Blauwe Chimay (brown) : 33 cl blue cap & 75cl , 1,5L en 3L corked bottles,

Bottling date = date expiration - 5 years. Alc. 9% vol

The 75cl bottled beer is also called "Grand Réserve" .

To accurately read the bottling date of a Chimay beer, take a look at its label :

You will find a code like this : LAK 013

LA has no specific meaning, K stands for 2002 (L for 2003 and so on), 013 means the Trappist is the 013th brew transported to the bottling plant.

From 2007 on the last two letters are replaced by by the year ... 2007 wil.
